This Privacy Policy explains how FOUNTAIN CLOUD TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the LeoPDF website, LeoPDFree and LeoPDF applications. For privacy questions or requests, contact xuehui@leopdf.com.
1. Where your files are processed
LeoPDFree for Windows
All conversions and file-processing operations in LeoPDFree run offline, locally on your computer. Files processed with these features are not uploaded for processing. LeoPDFree does not include OCR.
LeoPDF store editions
In LeoPDF for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android, all features other than conversion to Word or Excel run offline on your device. Files processed with these offline features are not uploaded for processing.
Cloud conversion and OCR
Word and Excel conversion are excluded from the offline processing described above. When you use cloud conversion, the files you select are transmitted for processing to produce the requested output. OCR, including recognition of scanned text and handwriting, uses cloud processing and requires an internet connection.
Files processed in the cloud are deleted when conversion completes. Cloud conversion is not a file-storage or backup service. Save the output you need on your own device and keep your original files.
The offline statements above describe document processing. They do not mean that visiting our website, downloading software, making purchases, contacting support or using cloud features involves no network communication.
2. Other information we handle
- Website access information: our public website does not offer a visitor login. Web-server access logs record IP addresses and browser information, including browser type and version. Request metadata, such as the requested resource and time of access, is also recorded by the web server. We use these records to operate the website, diagnose problems and protect against abuse. An IP address or an online identifier can constitute personal information even when you do not give us your name.
- Support correspondence: when you contact us, we receive your contact details and the information you choose to send. Avoid attaching confidential documents unless they are needed to investigate your request.
- Purchase information: purchases are handled through the app store where you make the purchase. That provider handles payment information under its own policy. Information made available to us about a purchase may be used to verify conversion entitlements, provide support and meet record-keeping obligations.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Cookies, local storage and optional analytics below for the technologies we use, their purposes and your choices.
3. Cookies, local storage and optional analytics
This section incorporates our Cookie Policy. A cookie is a small value stored by your browser; local storage is another way a website can remember a setting on your device. Server access logs are separate from cookies. Not having a visitor login does not by itself mean a website has no cookies or personal information.
Your privacy preference
We use the local-storage entry leopdf_privacy_v1 to remember whether you accept or reject optional analytics. It records your choice, the preference version and the time of the choice, rather than a visitor identifier. This preference is valid for 180 days, after which we ask again when you next visit. You can change it sooner using Privacy settings. If your browser blocks local storage, your choice may not persist between pages.
Optional Google Analytics 4
On our public website, Google Analytics 4 may be loaded only after you accept optional analytics. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from reading pages or downloading software. Before acceptance, and when analytics are rejected, our analytics integration does not load the Google tag or send analytics measurements to Google, including cookieless measurement pings. Private previews and authenticated administrator visits are excluded from this integration.
When enabled with your consent, Google Analytics processes a pseudonymous browser identifier, browser and device information, page visits and clicks on designated product-download links to help us understand website use. We remove query strings and fragments from the page URLs and referrers sent by our integration. We do not send document contents, email addresses or payment-card details as analytics event parameters. These analytics settings do not enable advertising storage, advertising personalization or Google Signals.
Google processes network information, including an IP address, when receiving a request. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. This is separate from our own web-server access logs. Google may process analytics information outside your country; see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics privacy information.
With analytics accepted, the integration can set first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<stream identifier>. Their configured lifetime is 60 days from creation; our configuration does not extend that lifetime on every page view. These cookies distinguish browser visits for statistics. Analytics data held by Google is separate from browser cookies and is subject to the Analytics property’s retention settings and Google’s service policies.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use Privacy settings on any page and choose Reject analytics to withdraw your analytics consent. Our integration disables further analytics, attempts to remove its accessible analytics cookies and reloads the page if the Google tag was active. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew consent. Browser controls can also remove cookies and local storage. Removing the stored preference causes us to ask again.
Website administrators may separately use WordPress authentication and security cookies to access the management area. Those cookies support administration and are not visitor-analytics consent. External app stores and other sites you follow from our website have their own storage technologies and policies.
4. Why information is processed
We process information to provide the features you request, handle purchases and support, maintain service reliability, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing our services, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Providing online services can involve hosting, technical processing, support and payment service providers. Relevant information may be handled by providers involved in delivering the requested service. The store through which you obtain an application also handles information under its own privacy policy. We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats or legal claims. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Online processing may involve locations outside your country. Where applicable law requires protections for international transfers, those requirements apply to the processing. Contact us if you need information about a particular service or transfer before submitting a document.
6. Retention and deletion
Web-server access logs are configured for daily rotation with up to 10 rotated log files retained, in addition to the active file. This is a file-count rule, not a guarantee that every record is deleted exactly 10 days after collection: elapsed retention can vary when logs are empty, rotation is delayed or operational exceptions apply.
The conversion-file deletion rule in section 1 applies to files processed in the cloud. Other information, such as support correspondence, purchase records and technical logs, is separate from conversion files. It is retained as needed for its purpose, including resolving support issues, preventing abuse and meeting legal or accounting requirements; it is not covered by the conversion-file deletion rule.
You may request deletion of personal information we hold by contacting xuehui@leopdf.com. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where required or permitted by applicable law. Files processed only on your device remain under your control and can be deleted using the application or your device’s file controls.
7. Security and your choices
Use local processing when you do not want a document uploaded for processing. Before using a cloud feature, make sure you are authorized to submit the document and any personal information it contains. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You can manage file and photo permissions through your device settings and cookies through your browser. Withholding permissions needed for a feature may prevent that feature from working.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Send requests to xuehui@leopdf.com. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.
9. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can investigate and address the information in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this page and its date when this policy changes. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes. A policy update does not itself constitute your consent to new processing that requires consent.
